Karnataka: Congress and JDS meeting on sharing of portfolios
Apart from important departments such as Finance and Home, both the parties want to keep the Public Works Department, power, mining, water resources, irrigation and urban development.
New Delhi: There is still no solution to the ongoing deadlock over the division of the departments between the Congress and the JDS in Karnataka. Although the two parties say that this issue will be resolved soon and this coalition will be extended. A meeting lasted for nearly one and a half hours between senior Congress leaders and Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy had not yielded any result.
According to sources, after returning to Karnataka's Kumaraswamy, late night, there was an informal meeting with senior leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Ahmed Patel, JDS leader Danish Ali. Apart from important departments such as Finance and Home, both the parties want to keep the Public Works Department, power, mining, water resources, irrigation and urban development.
JDS leader Danish Ali said, "The talks between the two parties are continuing. The acceptable solution will be resolved soon. Congress spokesman Tom Wadkkan said, "If you look at history, it takes time in such cases. One week, take ten days. I assure that in the near future, the people of Karnataka will get a strong and stable government there. "
Since joining hands to form a government in Karnataka, both the parties are churning out the division of departments. Significantly, this conversation between the two parties is happening in the absence of Congress President Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi has gone abroad for the treatment of his mother Sonia Gandhi. The coalition government is likely to include 21 ministers from Congress quota and 11 ministers from JDS quota.
